• What is UFile for Windows?
  UFile is one of Canada's leading tax software products.  UFile for Windows is based entirely on UFile ONLINE, Canada’s favourite online tax preparation program, and it has all the features and benefits of the original UFile product in a format that can be installed on your PC.
• What is the difference between UFile for Windows and UFile ONLINE?

  UFile for Windows and UFile ONLINE are essentially the same product offered in two ways:

  UFile for Windows is installed on your computer and data is stored on your computer. UFile ONLINE is found on the Internet; there is no software to install and your data is securely stored online. To see a comparison of our UFile products please click here.

• How much does UFile for Windows cost?
  UFile for Windows has a suggested retail price is $29.99.
• Where can I get UFile for Windows?

  UFile for Windows can be purchased at Future Shop or Best Buy stores across Canada, or online at www.futureshop.ca, bestbuy.ca or ufile.ca.

• How many tax returns can I prepare with UFile for Windows?
  UFile for Windows (Standard Edition) offers the ability to prepare up to 8 tax returns. Additional returns can be purchased online, if necessary.
• How do I get assistance if I need it?

  Read the questions carefully. If you require assistance, several options are available depending on the nature of your query.

• What are the system requirements for UFile for Windows?

  To run UFile for Windows on your computer, your system must meet the following requirements:

  Operating system:
  Windows XP, Vista or 7.

  Hard disk space:
  25 mb available

  Display:
  Video card and monitor capable of 800x600 resolution at 256 colours (16-bit colour recommended).

  You must also have a Windows-compatible mouse, a CD-Rom drive, and an inkjet or laser printer to print tax returns.

  Internet access is required in order to use NETFILE, and highly recommended for obtaining the latest software updates.

• Can I install UFile for Windows on more than one computer?
  Yes, you can install UFile for Windows on up to 2 computers. However, the maximum number of tax returns you can file is still subject to the limitation set by your product version and additional returns purchased.
• I would like to delete a file in UFile for Windows. How can I do that?

  While it is not possible to delete a tax return within UFile for Windows, you can go in the folder where UFile data files are stored (generally "My Documents") and delete the file you no longer want from there.

  Please note that if the file you wish to delete contains a return that has been printed, filed using NETFILE or NETFILE Quebec, or saved in PDF format, this return counts towards the total available, as reflected by the tax return counter. If you are unsure whether a return was counted, select Tools on the menu bar, then select Tax return counter.

• How can I install the latest update if I experience problems with the automated download procedure from the program?

  Access the DOWNLOADS & UPDATES section and read the instructions on how to download the latest update directly from our Web site.

  Some computer environments will not allow automatic updating of your program.

  Please follow these simple instructions to download and install the latest version:

  1. Completely close your UFile program.
  2. Download the latest version (which includes all updates) at: http://www.ufile.ca/download/UF2011H7E49TF5GKS9X6DS/Ufile2011.exe
  3. Save it to your Desk.
  4. Install the program using the instructions for the situation that applies to you.
